Sports is a unifying factor. All institutions are called upon to organise sports and outdoor activities because of the numerous benefits the kids, pupils, students and even the teachers can get. Besides increasing mental alertness, confidence and self-esteem, it also develops skills in them such as leadership, patience, team effort and social skills.
Staying fit and healthy is as a result of taking part in any sporting activity. It enables them to be emotionally strong and be able to deal with other emotional issues.Even the body build could better be worked upon through sports rather than taking medications.
Sports does not only build self-esteem. The children do share the same sports, thus share similar interests and learn to win with class and lose with dignity.
It offers a very good platform for the children or individual to make new friends they would never have met in life if not of this particular activity; friends from different homes, backgrounds, social status with a common interest. This spices up life, with different views for a common interest.
Sports also offers a good learning environment. They tend to respect authority, rules, teammates and opponents. It is this appreciation for rules and regulations that helps to shape their future acknowledgement of working environments.
Engaging in any soprts discipline improves the intensity of concentration. For example if your child finds it difficult completing a homework or studying, try later on after a swimming lesson, football game, golf or tennis.
